Have you ever wondered what actually happens in a swinger club? When you first think about the world of swinger clubs, you might have images in your head from bad movies: dimly lit rooms, shady characters, a hint of the “forbidden.” That’s exactly how I used to imagine it too – until I stepped through the door of a swinger club for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. In this article, I’ll tell you from a female perspective what it’s really like to visit a swinger club – how it feels and what to expect.
The first steps: From nervousness to curiosity
My first visit began with a racing heart. “What happens in a swinger club, will I be immediately groped by strange men?” I asked myself. I stood in front of the inconspicuous entrance door with a friend, both of us dressed very sexily, but not in overly revealing outfits. We rang the bell, were warmly greeted – and the initial tension immediately faded. Instead of a sleazy atmosphere, we were met with a stylish bar, friendly staff, and guests who seemed more like they were at a sophisticated after-work party than in a “forbidden world.”
It didn’t take long before the first conversations started. Some visitors were curious about us newcomers, others were more reserved. The special thing: No one pushed or became overbearing – respect is a fixed part of the interaction here. Quite different from “normal” clubs. Consent is a top priority here, and anyone who doesn’t stick to it is kicked out.
What happens in the playrooms at a swinger club?
Behind the bar, hallways usually lead to the so-called playrooms – these are rooms with beds, some open to view, some lockable. Some are completely normal rooms with a simple bed and perhaps a nightstand including free condoms. Others are elaborately designed as themed rooms with various equipment ranging from gynecological chairs to St. Andrew’s crosses to lovingly designed beach rooms with corresponding paintings and decorations.
As a woman, you are often the center of attention here, and interest is high. This can be exciting, but also overwhelming. Important: You decide what happens. A “no” is accepted, and you can step out of a situation at any time.
When a couple or a group decides to go into one of the rooms, they usually have sex there in various ways. From vanilla sex between couples to threesomes and foursomes to gang bangs and BDSM. I have seen all sorts of constellations. If the room remains open, other guests will come to watch. Sometimes other people also try to join in. The group then has to accept or decline this. Usually, people always ask beforehand and don’t just touch directly. When the room becomes free again, the playmates go back out together or separately. Depending on the establishment, the room is cleaned before the next group enters. Often, however, it is a constant coming and going.
Tip: Inform yourself before your swinger club visit
Don’t just go to a swinger club blindly; instead, check the website or platforms like Joy Club beforehand to see which event is taking place that evening. This way, you can go to “men-surplus” parties (HÜ-Partys) or couple parties where only couples and single women are allowed. You’ll also find out the theme of the evening, the rules, and the corresponding dress code.
What do you wear to a swinger club?
The dress code varies depending on the evening. Everything from an elegant “little black dress” to lingerie, PVC, or leather is possible. Most women take the opportunity to really show themselves off – not just for others, but also for their own self-confidence. The moment you see yourself in the mirror and know: “I look damn hot today,” is priceless. If you’re dressed sexily, you can hardly go wrong as a woman. Whether in fetish wear, a mesh top, beautiful lingerie, a schoolgirl look, or a skimpy festival outfit. As a man, you usually have to wear a suit, or at least long pants and a shirt, or kinky clothing like leather pants, a kilt, chains, mesh, latex, or a harness.
Sex-positive instead of cliché
Swinger clubs are not (only) places for quick sex. Many events emphasize a sex-positive, respectful atmosphere where physicality is not judged but celebrated. You meet couples, singles, the curious – and people who speak openly about desires and boundaries.
There are evenings with special themes: from dance parties to bondage workshops to themed parties. This allows you to explore new things step by step without immediately plunging into an adventure.
Swinger club experience as a single woman and as a couple
Regardless of whether you get active or just watch – the appeal often lies in experiencing something different. It’s about sensuality, excitement, and the freedom to decide for yourself how far you go. For me, a swinger club is not a secret den of sin, but a place where openness, respect, and eroticism meet. As a woman, I have the freedom here to live out my desires, discover new sides of myself – or simply enjoy an exciting evening in a special atmosphere.
If you’ve now got the urge to dive even deeper into this fascinating world, then read my book “Swing, Baby – My kinky little secret.” In it, I tell honestly and directly about my own experiences and exactly what really happens in a swinger club – from my first visit, which led directly to group sex, and the experiences after that, through to the experiences with Alex.
